Community & Environment
Proboard Timber is a family-run business, and we’ve always believed in giving something back through the success of the company.

From supporting local schools and sport teams to donating usable timber offcuts and contributing to environmental initiatives, we try to support the community around us in practical and meaningful ways.

These are not large corporate programmes — just causes, organisations, and local projects that we’re proud to help where we can.
Special Needs School
As a local company, we are proud to support a local school which specialises in helping young people with learning difficulties.

During the winter term, we were pleased to fund a pantomime trip for pupils, helping them enjoy a festive theatre experience outside the classroom.
Building on this, we are also supporting the school again this term by funding a series of farm visits. These trips provide pupils with the opportunity to experience hands-on learning, spend time outdoors, and engage with animals in a supportive environment.
We are grateful to the staff who work hard to create these experiences, and we are proud to play a small part in helping make them possible.

Men's Shed Halstead
We’re pleased to support The Men’s Community Shed in Halstead through donations of usable timber offcuts, damaged panels, and surplus stock.

The shed carries out a wide range of community-focused projects, including repairing and making equipment for local charities, clubs, and organisations.

Donating materials that would otherwise go unused helps reduce waste while ensuring they can be reused for practical community projects and put to good use locally.
Sudbury Rugby Club
We’re proud to support Sudbury Rugby Club through ongoing sponsorship, helping promote grassroots and youth rugby across East Anglia.

Local sports clubs play an important role in bringing communities together, developing young players, and creating opportunities for people of all ages to get involved in sport.

As a family-run business, we’re pleased to support a club that continues to have a positive impact within the local community.

Just One Tree
Through the ongoing success of the business, we contribute a percentage of profits each quarter to Just One Tree in support of environmental and reforestation projects.

JUST ONE Tree is a non-profit initiative focused on removing CO2 from the atmosphere and helping reverse biodiversity loss through global reforestation. They plant trees in areas heavily affected by deforestation, helping restore ecosystems both on land and in the oceans.

Alongside environmental work, the organisation also supports agricultural education, sustainable incomes for local communities, and environmental learning programmes for schools and young people.

It’s one of several practical ways we aim to give something back and operate more responsibly as a business.
